Eliza Keeney

Eliza Keeney is a Kansas City based artist who works primarily in Ceramics. She received her BFA in ceramics from the Kansas City Art Institute. This body of work was produced during Eliza’s residency at L’Atelier LaRex in Saint-Raphaël, France. Eliza makes work that aims to apply humor as a guise to touch on societal functions and dysfunctions while also incorporating lived experience. These relief sculptures are centered around internet praised cat-girls. They take on different roles, such as push-over princesses and cool girls. These cat-girls are superimposed between children’s drawings and the canon young adult experience.
