Alexie Pena Kim is a ceramic artist based in Vienna. Her work is informed by shapes and colors drawn from her Mexican heritage, situating each piece between functional object and artistic work. Kim's practice examines questions of identity, liminal space, and memory, using ceramic form as a means of investigation. Her objects operate simultaneously as usable vessels and as autonomous artistic statements, reflecting a deliberate ambiguity between these two categories. Through material, form, and color, she engages with the position of the self between cultures and contexts, and with the ways memory persists within everyday objects.
