Allen Zewen Yu (b. 1994, Henan, China) is a ceramic artist and landscape architect whose practice is shaped by his experience of the Asian diaspora in the United States. Drawing on his background in architecture, Yu approaches ceramics as an exploration of the relationships between material, form, and the spatial and environmental contexts they inhabit. Beginning an MFA in Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Fall 2026, Yu hopes to continue exploring how cultural traditions are translated across contexts by examining migration, memory, and belonging through clay.
