Any Guelmann

Any Guelmann’s work in clay and metal begins with the architecture that contains and records life: walls. Her bricks, tiles, and corbels draw on the curves of Brazilian modernism and the subtropical brutalism of her native Curitiba, where she trained as an architect and urban planner. After moving to New York, she studied metalsmithing and documentary photography and began working with clay. Currently based in Detroit, she is an MFA candidate in Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art, where she holds a Gilbert Fellowship.
