My art practice probes the psychological and physical wounds of alienation on immigrant households—wounds inflicted by threats, rejection, and exclusion endured by Hispanic families in the United States. Through ceramic figures and anthropomorphic beings, I conjure fictional characters and scenes that lay bare the suppressed sorrow and longing within immigrant families, transforming these emotions into permanent, tangible forms. My work strives to illuminate and humanize these silent struggles. My ceramics offer no solutions; instead, they recognize the pain of ongoing immigrant disputes and invite reflection amid chaos and uncertainty—a fragile, heartfelt hope for humanity.
