Rian Gladnick is a ceramic artist based in his hometown of Goleta, California exploring themes of renewal, transformation, and transcendence using embodied visual metaphors and textured surface treatment. Graduating from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2018 with a BFA and department award in Illustration, he took his first clay class at a community studio after moving back home in 2023 and became inspired by the incredibly gestural and intuitive nature of the medium. Rian continues to learn more about the craft after joining Maker House as a member and current intern; he is a 2026 Emergent Scholarship recipient from The Infinite School.
